thanksgiving
oops, in my rush to get to Christmas, i skipped thanksgiving pictures! (who can help it, with all the marketing brainwashing?!)
it was my first turkey ever, and i forgot to take pictures, which is just as well because of all the poke marks from when i was trying to turn it in order to follow Cooks Illustrated baste-and-turn instructions. so it didn't look great. it tasted good though!
the boys favorite food? snow!

yes, that unnamed friend of ours is not wearing shoes. actually, we caught both he and micah escaping barefoot into the backyard, shoeless, in order to eat more snow. micah would keep playing and digging in snow, and then come to me, furious that his hands were cold. i'd warm them up in my hands, try to get him to wear mittens, but he'd run back out, discarding the mittens on the way.
i'd think he wasn't really that smart, but then he does things like tells me, correctly, when there is two of something "two cars" "two bugs" "two books," and when he labels "blue" "black" and "red" correctly. so he can count and knows three colors. book smarts, not street smarts. sounds like the right genes. . . .
