ranch day!
Yes, there ARE fun things to do in Lubbock! This was the annual Ranch Day at the Ranching Heritage Center.
Typical J moment - he REALLY wanted to ride the horse, then after standing in line for a few minutes, decided he REALLY DIDN'T want to ride the horse. M wanted to ride it the whole time, of course. We decided J would ultimately be sad if we allowed him to not ride it - so encouraged him to do so . . . after watching his younger brother ride first, of course.
They also got to shoot a bow and arrow, which was VERY exciting.

M is getting SO big!!! Can't believe it! Looks like fun!
That sounds like a lot of episodes in our family -- First Daughter (who's 2.5) will do almost anything while First Son (5) will often only follow her lead. (Though she also adores her big brother and will repeat whatever he says and follow him around all day, which so far bothers him less than I had feared.)
